The NovaWall PWA App

Let’s be real: app stores are a total racket! Apple takes a 30% cut from developers and charges them $99 a year just for the privilege of publishing. Google does the same with their 30%. Both impose absurd rules, Kafkaesque bureaucracy, and feel free to censor anything they don’t like. Like anything that doesn’t fit the neoliberal playbook.

And privacy? Every app you install from a store is a data vacuum cleaner. Abusive permissions, built-in trackers, ad surveillance… You think you’re installing a simple app when you’re actually handing your digital life over to data brokers. So we categorically refuse to play that game. That’s why NovaFuture will never be on the App Store or Google Play again.

But instead, we’re offering you something much better: a PWA application. It runs directly from your browser on Android, iOS, Linux, Mac and Windows. No store, no middleman, no trackers. Just you and NovaFuture. And that’s the whole story behind the NovaStore 🙂

Install NovaFuture in 2 seconds

No store, no account, no tracking. NovaFuture installs directly from your browser, just like a real app. Once installed, it opens in its own window with no address bar, offline access, and lightning-fast loading.

💻 On desktop (Brave, Chrome, Edge)

Spot this icon in your address bar and click it. That’s it.

PWA install icon in Brave address bar

📱 On mobile (Android with Brave, Chrome, Edge)

Open your browser menu (the three vertical dots ⋮ at the top right on Chrome or bottom right on Brave) and select this option:

Add to Home screen option in mobile browser menu

“Add to Home screen” or similar wording depending on your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Does NovaFuture send notifications?

Nope, never! We’re not trying to replicate those addiction-inducing notification schemes. If you get replies to your messages on the NovaFlow, you’ll already be notified by email if you’ve enabled that option. For everything else, there’s always fresh content on NovaFuture, so just drop by whenever you feel like it. No pressure here.

Does the app respect privacy?

100%! The NovaFuture app is a PWA, which means your browser runs it, not some third-party program. There are no trackers, no personal data collection, no advertising cookies, no connections to Google, Apple or any external service. Your activity stays between you and NovaFuture. Period.

Is it secure?

Yes. The app runs over HTTPS, the same secure protocol your online bank uses. Unlike store apps that demand dozens of permissions (contacts, microphone, GPS location…), the NovaFuture PWA requests zero permissions on your device. It can’t access anything beyond the website. And since the code loads directly from our servers, you always have the latest and safest version.

What are the benefits of the app?

The site loads much faster thanks to smart caching because pages you visit often load almost instantly. Some pages even stay available offline. Best of all, you get a direct shortcut on your home screen (mobile) or desktop (computer) to access NovaFuture with a single tap, just like any other app.

Is the app easy to uninstall?

Yes, takes just seconds. On mobile, it works exactly like any other app: long press the icon, then Delete. On desktop, just remove the shortcut. That’s it. No hidden files to clean up, no modified registry, no ghost processes running in the background. When it’s gone, it’s gone.

Do I need to update the app?

Never. The app updates itself automatically every time you open it. You always have the latest version without doing anything. No annoying update popups, no 200 MB downloads, no waiting… It just works.

What exactly is a PWA?

PWA stands for Progressive Web App. It’s a W3C technology (the organization that defines web standards) that turns a website into an installable application. Unlike store apps, a PWA requires no heavy download, no store account, and can’t access your device data without your permission. It’s the future of apps and thousands of sites already use it.

Does the app use storage space?

Barely anything. The app weighs a few hundred KB, compared to tens or hundreds of MB for a typical app. The smart cache only stores essential resources to speed up browsing. You’ll never see a “Storage full” message because of NovaFuture.

Special cases

🍎 iPhone and iPad

Apple protects its 30% cut by limiting PWAs. Installation only works from Safari (not Chrome, not Brave, not Firefox because Apple blocks them from using their own engine). So open NovaFuture in Safari, tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up), then choose “Add to Home Screen”.

🐧 Menu shortcut on Linux (Brave)

On Linux, Brave doesn’t automatically add the app to your applications menu. Once installed, type brave://apps in the address bar, right-click the NovaFuture icon, then choose “Install to menu”. The app will appear in the “Other” category of your menu. From there you can move it to another category and even create a desktop launcher with a right-click.

🦊 Firefox (desktop)

Firefox decided not to support PWA installation. It’s a controversial choice that many users regret. You can work around it with the PWAs for Firefox extension, or simply switch to Brave which supports PWAs natively and includes built-in Tor browsing as a bonus. Which reminds us: NovaFuture is fully accessible via Tor through our onion address.

🔴 Opera (desktop and mobile)

Opera deliberately disabled PWA installation in their browser, despite years of user requests. On Android, the install prompt is also buggy. If you use Opera and want to install the NovaFuture app, the solution is simple: switch to Brave! It’s a free browser with no trackers, proper PWA support, and built-in Tor.

🟣 Vivaldi

Vivaldi supports PWAs but the feature is hidden. Type vivaldi://experiments in the address bar and enable the PWA option. After that, you can right-click any page and choose “Install”.

Lock down your browser security

The NovaFuture app requests zero permissions. But by default, your browser leaves certain permissions set to “Ask” for all sites. If you want to lock things down completely, here’s how to do it on Brave (similar on Chrome and Edge):

Type brave://apps, right-click NovaFuture → “App settings”. Switch from “Ask” to “Block” for: Google Sign-In, Ethereum/Solana, Location, Camera, Microphone, Notifications, USB devices, Serial ports, HID devices, Clipboard, Augmented/Virtual reality, Window management.

Keep enabled: JavaScript, Images, Web app installations.

By doing this, you significantly strengthen the security around the NovaFuture app. The site works exactly the same way, but no sensitive permissions can be triggered, even accidentally. It’s just basic digital hygiene and we encourage you to do the same for all the sites you visit regularly.

The NovaFuture PWA is a 100% free and open project. No store, no commission, no tracking, no abusive permissions… Just the open web as it should be. Got questions? Drop by the NovaFlow.
