Hey everyone,Today we started real-world testing of the program. It went really well, just a few small bugs to fix and functions to simplify as much as possible. Let’s say we’re 99% there. We should be in beta really soon. So very close to publishing the code.
We also need to continue work on the server version. I’m out of Raspberry Pi units. I’ll try to find a used one because unfortunately the NovaFuture budget is really tight.
So we continue testing… we continue setting up the project… and as soon as everything is 100% okay, we launch.

Wow! What a huge day… On my end, I spent the whole day coding on the project… We made some serious progress with massive improvements that weren’t even planned. But it’s totally worth putting in the extra time. If we can keep up this pace for a few more days, we can release something truly amazing. Seriously!I was skeptical at first… but now that I see the potential… I’m fully motivated. Emmanuel told me he knows an awesome graphic designer to create the logo… I haven’t heard back from him yet… but it’s clear we’ll all chip in to get a top-notch logo done by a pro. I agree with you —> everything needs to be 100% flawless for the launch.
We were planning to release an alpha just to showcase the concept… No way! We’re going straight to a functional beta. That’s the best way to get the world excited.

Even more major improvements today that were not planned like adding the mini firewall. Now we need to focus hard on SSH management and maximum security. If everything goes well tomorrow, we should have something functional. The code is really piling up, but it is coming together fast. Seriously, if it all works tomorrow, we can start tackling usability and installation. Still no word from the graphic designer about the logo? Let me know in DM.I code. I hunt bugs. Holy shit, it finally works! We’ve got ourselves a killer engine The code is rock solid no more bugs. Let’s stick with what’s working keep it simple, brutally efficient, and nail the UX. Tested on XFCE flawless but notifications are missing. No need to overcomplicate things we’ll just use notify send and call it a day. Still need to test on Fedora, though. We’ve talked about this before, but yeah, let’s push back the release. The heavy lifting is done, and with a little more time, we can drop a polished solution in a few days. So let’s grind hard now and throw a massive party after. Sound good, dudes?I may be just a peasant... But I know how to fight!0 -

I never say no to a party 🙂 It’s true that the hardest part is done. But after the code, there’s still all the documentation to write. We also need to create a website, but that’s where I draw the line. We’re all exhausted. So we’ll just make a page on NovaFuture and point the domain there. This is a 100% open-source project. Once the software is finished, we’ll have accomplished our mission. So if someone serious wants to take the project further, we’ll hand over the domain. Because I think we shouldn’t spread ourselves too thin. Even today, I improved some code on NF. With WP, it never ends!!!At some point, when there are more of us, we’ll need to roll up our sleeves and switch to a full fork. But for now, we need to focus on both growing NF and Peerbox. Tomorrow evening, after a long day of coding, things will be much clearer. In the meantime, let’s stay motivated 🙂

I never say no to a great party either! Peerbox will be a wonderful Christmas gift for the community. That’s awesome! Do you have any updates on the Peerbox logo creation?I code. I hunt bugs. I exterminate trolls. And I love novaFuture <32 -

I just read the latest development status markdown. The progress is just mind blowing! This wasnt even on the roadmap. I cant believe it I tested everything, and it all works perfectly. The artist is working on the logo, and I cant wait to see the result. Just a suggestion though: this forum doesnt belong here! Peerbox is what matters! We need a dedicated forum category one for developers and one for technical support. Otherwise, its going to be total chaos! Get to work, @debugman!I may be just a peasant... We’ve reached the stress testing phase for the core. Today, we stripped everything down to the essentials, optimized the code even more and locked down security. The other project just hit 100 successful Cargo tests. Solid progress! Oh, and the logo finally landed. I love it. I’m totally on board with the dedicated forum idea, but we’re swamped with current projects right now. We’ll circle back when things calm down a bit.I code. I hunt bugs. I exterminate trolls. On my end, all the bandit tests passed. There was just one small issue to fix. Done. Can’t wait to wrap this up and move on to the important stuff. After the holidays, I’m counting on you to clean out all those bots that think they’re so clever 😉I may be just a peasant... But I know how to fight!0 -

Hey Dudes,
@matt you’ll be happy – I created the PeerBox category and moved the forum into it. Much cleaner this way. Now we’ve got a forum for development and one for support that we’ll open when everything’s ready. At this stage, we’re letting the holidays pass and launching after. Debugman’s got a lot on his plate with PeerBox and the other big project right now. So he’ll be glad I took some weight off by reorganizing the forum 🙂 In the meantime, here’s one version of the logo:

Yes! Love this logo. Can’t wait to see the other versions. Big work on PeerBox today! UX improvements over and over… stress tests revealed some well-hidden bugs, all fixed now. On my end, I tested on Debian 13.2… installed the distro as a tourist on an old laptop with the GUI… it’s really clean… the Debian team did a great job. Perfect for beginners. For my test machine I installed the XFCE version… yeah it’s really optimized. Pretty cool. Feels weird to see Debian for real outside of the console 🙂 but overall, it’s better than Mint’s XFCE version. Faster, more efficient. Old machines don’t lie. Either it’s fast or it’s not. This weekend I’m gonna try testing on Zorin. Welcome to Babylon! But hey, I’ll take one for the team. By the way… for the icon generation issue, I made a system from 0.2 to 0.8 based on machine power. Should fix the problem. Tell me how it works @Debugman on Ubuntu? And lay off your Arch for a bit 😀I may be just a peasant... But I know how to fight!1 -

Hey everyone,
Quick update on PeerBox. We were planning to release on January 5th, but we ended up adding some major improvements that weren’t in the original roadmap. Plus, it makes way more sense to ship it with a few plugins right out of the gate so users can see its full potential immediately.
So we need at least another 10 days. We’ve also got to prep the site properly to welcome this thing into the world.I code. I hunt bugs. I exterminate trolls. And I love novaFuture <30 -

Yeah, 10 days isn’t luxury at this point. Honestly, it’s smart. The plugin situation alone justifies the delay – we’ve got one working, but the other needs serious work. And if the core stress tests are still catching micro bugs, rushing it out would be shooting ourselves in the foot. Better to ship something solid than patch a mess after launch. The world can wait 10 more days for something that actually works right out of the box. Take the time, get it right. We’ll release PeerBox when it’s actually ready, not when some arbitrary deadline says so.I may be just a peasant... But I know how to fight!0
