As part of the site’s upcoming 8.6 release, the blog program just got bumped to version 1.6.1 and there are some serious improvements under the hood. Especially on the SEO side.

We’ve plugged our NovaSEO engine directly into the blog post publishing system. Everything is handled automatically using the latest updated SEO practices. We won’t bore you with the technical details but this new version is really effective at getting your blog posts ranked well in search engines. SEO can be pretty complicated stuff but here you don’t have to worry about any of it. Just publish and the program takes care of the rest.

We’ve also improved a bunch of other things and added 2 new categories: Fiction and Poetry.

One important thing to keep in mind: the site is multilingual. It basically works as if there’s a separate site for each language. So if you publish with the language selector set to FR for example, your post will only be visible in the French section of the site. This really matters because if you publish a French post in the English section, your post will be poorly ranked by search engines since the language won’t match the SEO tags. So always double check your language selector in the publishing dashboard before you hit publish.
